Our units connect to your existing sprinkler timer and share the same power source. The control box is weather proof, so it can be located indoors next to the timer, or outside, closer to the valves. The soil moisture probe is buried in a flat, representative location of the landscape, where water does not collect nor run-off freely. The probe uses patented technology to measure the soil moisture extremely accurately in any soil condition, without any of the common problems associated with inferior competitors. When your sprinkler timer is ready to begin the watering cycle, our unit measures the soil moisture to determine if it is above or below the level you have set. If the soil needs moisture, the sprinklers will activate as usual, and will always run the full cycle. If the soil is wet, the unit will prevent watering. The temperature sensor will inhibit watering if the air temperature falls below freezing. The user has full control over the soil moisture level, if you find that the landscape is not getting enough water, simply turn the dial toward 'Wet', the same goes for too much water, just turn the dial counter clockwise toward 'Dry' . A bright L.E.D. panel displays ready-to-water and power status . The push to set button allows instant response to user moisture settings. The bypass switch allows you to water anytime you like, such as after fertilizer applications. The units save up to 78% water use over the timer alone, feature a 5 year warranty, and last a long time. Several applications have been in place over ten+ years without removal or maintenance of any kind. Full instructions are included, and the installation is easy, with no special skills or tools needed.
